November in NC

Well, we've been here in North Carolina now for about six weeks. What can I say. I love it. It's beautiful. It's not Florida! The weather has been great, usually in the mid 70's during the day and dropping into the 60's. Although we did have a cold snap a couple weeks ago where the weather dropped down into the mid 30's for a couple nights. That was a bit of a shock.

So, since we've been here we have pretty much been getting the house in shape, unpacking boxes, and organizing. When we did get out we were going shopping for office furniture, food, to Home Depot. Lowe's, etc. I think we went to Gastonia every weekend for the first month. And we got lost the first two times. Most of the big stores are at least 15-30 minutes away. Not that I'm complaining.

The local paper, The Charlote Observer, had an article which said that 80,000 people moved to the Charlotte area this last year. I'd like to know what percentage of those were from Florida because it seems that practically everyone we meet is a relocated Floridian. Or a New Yorker.

Here are some pictures: Blue Ridge Parkway and me in front of our house.
